Administrative Assistant

Kitsap Sexual Assault Center (KSAC) is hiring for an administrative assistant position. Responsibilities include administrative assistance to Executive Director and Executive Administrator, drafting reports, transcribing meeting minutes, bookkeeping, and assist with grant applications. 

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support for the executive team
  • Must be experienced with QuickBooks
  • Manage agency activity calendar
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with grace
  • Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, grant applications 
  • Ability to maintain all applicable professional, legal & ethical standards, including confidentiality
  • Personable and able to work non-judgmentally within a client service framework and as a team player
  • Effective oral and writing skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with careful attention to detail
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work and make decisions and solve problems independently, effectively and creatively
  • Initiative and desire to be a team member of a fast growing and innovative sexual assault agency

Candidate must pass a background check. Candidate must attend a 30-hour Core Advocate Training in the anticipation of direct client services. This position description is intended to be general and may evolve over time.

Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 403b retirement program, paid vacation & sick time. Agency pays for initial core training and continuing education. This is a part time (30-hours per week), non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period

Case Manager

Kitsap Sexual Assault Center (KSAC) is hiring for Case Manager. The Case Manager position is newly created to develop and manage a program of holistic healing activities with referrals from therapists and Child & Family Advocates. This program is funded by a grant from Washington’s Office of Crime Victim Advocates (OCVA) for Services for Victims & Survivors. The case manager will collaborate with therapists and advocates in establishing recovery-oriented treatment plans with specific and measurable goals. The program envisions participation by both survivors of sexual assault and other traumatic crimes as a means for promoting wellness and autonomy through advocacy, communication, education, identification of service resources, and facilitation of said services. At this time KSAC has engaged partner agencies for related therapies, such as substance abuse treatment, music & art therapy, and trauma-focused yoga. 

  • Knowledge of sexual assault and crime victim issues
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related field, or four years acceptable on- the-job experience
  • Ability to maintain all applicable professional, legal & ethical standards, including confidentiality
  • Personable and able to work non-judgmentally within a client service framework and as a team player
  • Adroitness to work with culturally & economically diverse population
  • Effective oral and writing skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with careful attention to detail

Crime Victim Advocate

Kitsap Sexual Assault Center has an opening for a Crime Victim Advocate. This position provides advocacy services for victims of crime excluding domestic violence and sexual assault. Responsibilities include advocating on behalf of victims to ensure their interests are represented and rights upheld, provide assessments, crisis intervention, information and referrals, Crime Victims Compensation and Protection Order assistance, reporting abuse, accompaniment to hospital, legal interviews, and court, other practical assistance as required.

  • Considerable knowledge of criminal justice system 
  • Experience should include working with children and adults in crisis 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with careful attention to details
  • Community coordination, effective case management, and knowledge of the effects of traumatic experiences
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance

Therapist

Kitsap Sexual Assault Center (KSAC) is hiring for a therapist experienced with sexual abuse survivors of all ages and/or non-offending family members.
Duties may include:

  • Provide direct services in the form of individual, group and family therapy, including intake/assessments and emergent services responding to child and adult victims of sex abuse and their non-offending family members
  • Provide education in sexual abuse, identification, disclosure, referral and treatment to school systems and other service providers
  • Develop, when necessary, guidelines for delivering culturally sensitive services to a specified population
  • Coordinate with crisis staff and referring agencies for case management as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and confidential files and collect data as required
  • Be available for limited evening and weekend assignments
  • Attend and/or participate in work related training as required
  • Provide written reports and data collection to Executive Director and Clinical Supervisor

To qualify, an applicant must have

  • Master’s degree in psychology or related field
  • Minimum 2 years individual therapy experience
  • Knowledge of cultural differences and diversity
  • Excellent oral & writing skills
  • Crisis intervention experience
  • Valid WA driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation
  • WA State Dept of Health license

Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 403b retirement plan, paid vacation & sick time, core training & continuing education. Applicant must attend a 23-hour core therapy training. KSAC will pay for initial for core training and continuing education. A criminal background check and professional background investigation are required. This is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.
