Cover Your Tracks

Concerned about someone finding out you had visited our site or other sites? Here is how to reduce the chances of someone will track your presence on the web. Standard browsers like Windows Edge, IE and Firefox to leave a trail. There are ways to hide your tracks but no guarantee that any procedure provided here will hide your activities but it at least helps make it more difficult.

Windows Edge

  • Go to the upper right icon menu bar look for the 3 dot icon and click.
  • From the popup window select "Settings"
  • Look for "Clear Browsing Data" and select "Choose What to Select" This will open another pop-up.
  • There will be a full list of browser items to clear. Use the show more button to reveal more items to clear.
  • Select all or some of the items (we recommend select all)
  • Click the "Clear Button" to clear all of your history.

There is a toggle button below that that you can set to always clear cache when the browser is closed.

Internet Explorer

  • Go to the upper right icon menu bar look for the "gear" icon and click.
  • From the pop-up window select "Internet Settings".
  • From the pop-up window select the "General" tab.
  • Look for "Browsing History" section and click the "Delete" button.
  • Select all or some of the items (we recommend select all)
  • From the new pop-up window select the items to clear. (we recommend select all).
  • Click "Delete" button to clear history.

There is a check box on the main Internet Options windows that will allow you to clear all when browser is closed.

FireFox

  • Go to the upper right icon menu bar look for the "3 Bar" icon and click.
  • From the pop-up window select "Internet Settings".
  • From the pop-up window select the "History" menu item.
  • Look for "Clear Recent History" and click.
  • In the new pop-up window you have the option to select various time intervals. We recommend select "Everything" and select all options.
  • Click the "Clear Now" button.

Never Save History Option

  • Go to the upper right icon menu bar look for the "3 Bar" icon and click.
  • Select Options Icon.
  • Select from the Left Menu "Privacy".
  • Under History item select your preferred option.

Other Browsers

Other browsers will vary slightly in the procedure on which steps to take to clear your cache (temporary files) and erase your history.

As stated there is no guarantee that any steps you take with your internet history may still be traceable. Individuals with far more internet savey will be able to reconstruct your browsing history.

That being said it is always safe to review and clear your history from devices you use whether it is mobile, tablet or desktop.
