Therapy & Prevention
Every victim/survivor who has the courage to contact KSAC by phone or in person to talk about sex abuse begins services from a strength based position. Staff members who are sensitive, competent and well trained assess for additional strengths and support systems in place. Close attention is paid to support systems information to assess for danger. Positive relationships are encouraged with individuals, family, group or agency. With permission, KSAC coordinates services with other agencies, schools or family.
Services are provided by master level, licensed therapist with a minimum of 10 years experience in the field of sexual abuse. Therapist have specialized training for treatment of sexually reactive children. Therapy is provided in a safe, supportive and caring environment.
In addition to offering therapy services, Kitsap Sexual Assault Center provides community outreach and prevention programs by offering educational programs to service organizations and schools. KSAC staff present information on pertinent topics such as sexual hygiene, personal safety, the right to say ‘No”, warning signs for abuse, Safe Date practices, and healthy boundaries.
As a part of the outreach service, the Kitsap Sexual Assault Center joins with other nonprofit agencies and community service programs to coordinate support services for all quality of life programs.
Adolescent Child Counseling
Caring, compassionate, trauma focused therapy… in the Bremerton or Port Orchard offices. Adolescents are also served at Bainbridge Island Office.
Adult Individual Counseling
Individual therapy is provided for male and female adults of all ages provided in the Bremerton, Port Orchard and Bainbridge Island offices.
Teen School-Based Counseling
School-based individual and group therapy. Referrals accepted from school counselors, teachers, and parents. Schools provide confidential space.
